About
I am a Summer 2011 graduate of the University of Florida's PhD programme in Curriculum and Instruction. My major area of study was Social Studies Education, and I earned a cognate in The Social Foundations of Education and a minor in Qualitative Research and Evaluation Methods.
I will begin my faculty experience at Georgia Southern's Department of Teaching and Learning as a full-time instructor in social studies methods, field supervision, and action research in August 2011.
My areas of research expertise are:
1. authenticity in teaching, learning, and assessment;
2. qualitative research theory, stemming from a grounding in contemporary continental philosophy;
3. the history of the civic dimensions of education.
